The Education and Employment Department believes in the power and importance of employment and its ability to create stable, healthy and happy living.

In service of our residents looking to attain employment, we offer a variety of programs and assistance to help navigate the field of employment and aid in the learning and retaining of employment.

Career Center

APC’s Career Center provides specific assistance to residents and one-on-one meetings to support them in their education and employment goals. The Career Center has computers available on a daily basis for residents who wish to apply for jobs online or work on their resumes.

On-the-Job Training

APC’s On-the-Job Training Program assists residents in preparation to re-enter the workforce through part-time employment and focused coursework. During the 6 month course, residents have the opportunity to gain key skills which will help them navigate the complex world of job seeking.

Workforce Development

Our Employment team makes inquiries to local employers on behalf of residents to receive employment or to retain employment. We assist in building resumes, cover letters, and biographies for our residents. In addition, we host a variety of professional development classes for our residents.

Interested in volunteering in our Career Center? Volunteers have contributed immensely to our program, hosting Financial Literacy courses, basic computer skills classes and more.
