Lisa Maxwell

Chair

Lisa Maxwell is a partner at the law firm Burke, Williams and Sorensen. She has extensive experience representing and advising private clients and public agencies on complex real estate transactions and leasing negotiations. She previously served as Assistant City Attorney for the Cities of Oakland and Alameda and, as Alameda’s Community Development Director, led the team to secure grant funding to build Dignity Village – transitional supportive housing for nearly 50 unhoused Alameda community members.

Corinne Stubbs

Vice Chair

Corinne is a Digital Marketing Specialist at Zephyr, a leader in design and innovation. Her focus is on public policy trends toward social justice, international issues, and sustainability. A Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship recipient for the study of Portuguese and a recipient of the Hal E. Martin Fellowship in Health and Social Policy, and a member of the UCLA Anti-Trafficking & Human Rights Coalition and the campus liaison for the Pachamama Alliance, a non-profit based in San Francisco, CA devoted to the preservation of the Amazonian rainforest.

Jennifer M. Pigza PhD

Secretary

Jennifer M. Pigza, Ph.D. is the Chief Executive Officer of Girls Inc. of the Island City in Alameda where her team impacts thousands of girls lives each year! She is also director of the Catholic Institute for Lasallian Social Action and Adjunct Assistant Professor in Leadership (Kalmonovitz School of Education) at Saint Mary’s College of California, a long-time partner with APC.  Jennifer is dedicated to building organizations that advance equity and transform systems of oppression. 

She recently published “Women and Leadership Development in College: A Facilitation Resource” (Pigza, Owen & Associates, 2021), is a well-respected scholar, practitioner, and leader in the field of community engagement.

James Edison

Treasurer

James is the Managing Principal for Willdan Financial Services. He specializes in public/private partnerships and the benefits of economic development to municipalities, and state, regional and national governments. His experience includes local and regional economic impact studies, fiscal impact evaluations, new government formation strategies, and the creation of impact fees, assessments and special taxes to fund infrastructure and public facilities.

Matthew Goldenberg

Board Member

Matthew is a newer Alamedan and the Presentations Manager at a MedAffairs agency. He has a decade of experience defining, coordinating, and managing impactful meetings and engagements in the Commercial Real Estate and Medical industries. He is passionate about finding novel solutions and technologies that offer a path to lower frustration and quicker results – particularly in terms of building self-reliant communities and sustainable projects.

Pamela Jordon-Woodard

Board Member

Pamela has many years experience working with non-profit organizations, serving on the Board of Directors of the Arizona State Board of Regents Commission, The California Youth Services Coalition, It’s My Miracle, and Embracing the Dream. She has also served as an Advisor to the Board of Directors for Girls Inc., American Heart Association, and Bay Area Community Connection. Pamela has initiated fundraising strategies, capital campaigns, and secured grants resulting in a supplement of over 8.7 million to fund several programs. Pamela is an ordained minister, a former Dean of Students at the School of Urban Mission, and co-founder of the Kobe Project, a non-profit that educates communities and improves the lives of those affected by mental health conditions

Keith McCoy

Board Member

Keith is President and a Founding Partner of UrbanMix Development, LLC. With more than 30 years in the real estate development industry, he has a broad range of experience and expertise in developing mixed income/ mixed use neighborhoods. Keith has held senior management positions with international development companies and has established new development operations in Northern California. He is passionate about creating enduring communities and providing housing opportunities for people at all economic levels.

Michele McGarraugh

Board Member

Michele is the Owner, Lead Investigator and Notary Public at McGarraugh Company, Private Investigations. She is an Alameda native who has served on APC’s board since 2011. Her experience  has enabled her to contribute a multitude of skills to the APC mission, chief among them are coordination, planning, and inclusiveness.

Randy Rentschler

Board Member

After more than twenty years working at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Randy retired from his role as Director of Legislation and Public Affairs. Randy is an Adjunct Instructor at the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy and is a Consultant at WSP USA, a multinational engineering and design firm.

Marjon Saulon

Board Member

Marjon currently serves as a Government Affairs Representative at the Port of Oakland, where he coordinates legislative and strategic community relations activities with local, regional, state and federal legislators, and public officials.

Prior to that, he served as Governor Gavin Newsom’s Deputy Regional Director of External Affairs. In that role, he managed local stakeholder engagement for the Governor across thirty counties in the Bay Area and Northern California region. He also coordinated stakeholder events and gathered local support to pass historic legislation on behavioral health, housing and homelessness, and infrastructure.

Before joining the Governor’s Office, Marjon worked as a policy advisor for Alameda County Supervisors Dave Brown and Wilma Chan.

Len Shen

Board Member

A Harvard-trained litigator, Len began his career as an environmental lawyer at the U.S. Justice Department, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Senate, and practiced law in Washington DC, California, and Connecticut. He then spent 18 years as the global Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer for four Fortune 500 companies, responsible for driving an ethical culture and compliance with laws across 100,000 employees around the world.

Len has served on both for-profit and non-profit boards, guiding and investing in technology companies, chairing the Board of two financial services companies in the U.S. and Canada, and serving for six years on the Board of HomeFirst of Santa Clara County, one of the largest providers of homeless shelters and services in the Bay Area. Len is also a Doctor of Chinese Energetic Medicine, Buddhist Lama, and Christian Priest. He has three grown daughters and two grandchildren.

Jane Watson

Board Member

Jane Watson is a past member of APC’s Board of Directors and is delighted to return and help drive APC’s mission forward. She is a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones and her passion for helping others achieve their goals is at the heart of her practice. Being able to celebrate successes as well as hold a client’s hand during challenging times is the most rewarding part of her work. Listening to a person’s story and hearing about what is important to them is the cornerstone of how she collaborates with others to help them achieve their full potential.
